NASA engineers announced they have set 3:13 p.m. Saturday as the time for the space shuttle to land at Kennedy Space Center.

In terms of speeding things up, Javascript has been the focus of the latest PC browser releases (beta or not). Most of the latest releases have bragged about how much the speed of Javascript has been increased, whether it's TraceMonkey (Mozilla), Nitro (Safari) or V8 (Chrome). And testing of the beta version shows that iPhone OS 3.0 will show a definite speed increase.
U.S. Naval Observatory Hosts Open House
The U.S. Naval Observatory will hold a rare open house Saturday as part of a celebration of the International Year of Astronomy marking the 400th anniversary of Galileo's first examination of the heavens with a telescope.
